

CLASSES IN 2010
PRIMARY CLASS (5-7 year-olds)
Anyone from the age of 5 to 7 year-old. In class you will explore the basic movements & steps in soft shoes. With a lot of fun moments you will learn different rhythms, do many funky jig steps, need to bring your listening ears to copy many claps and stamps and above all learn a reel dance. Every lesson will consist of a warming up and a cooling down. No previous experience is needed.
JUNIOR CLASS (8-12 year-olds)
Anyone from the age of 8 to 12 year-old. With a lot of fun moments, basic steps will be learned in soft and hard shoes. Steps will be broken down in easy to learn movements. Both solo (grade-work) and céilí (group) dances will be learned. Every lesson will consist of a warming up and a cooling down. No previous experience is needed.
OPEN CLASS (from age 12 incl. adults)
Anyone from the age of 12 incl. adults. Each dancer will work on steps for their solo dances in the level/grade they are in. This is one part of the class, together as a group we will work on céilí, show/fun, technique exercises and of course our warming up & cooling down. Classes are for everyone who mastered the "Bun Grád" dances and basic steps in hardshoe.
BEGINNERS CLASS (from age 12 incl. adults)
Anyone from the age of 12 incl. adults. In this class you will learn the basic steps in soft shoes and hard shoes. You will learn to dance and recognise the different rhythms like reel and jig. Each dancer will work on steps from the 4 softshoe dances in the "Bun Grád" (beginners level) and the basic steps in hardshoe. Céilí dances (group dance) are also part of the beginnersclass. Once mastered the "Bun Grád" dances & the basic steps in hardshoe, you are able to move on to the "Open Class". Every lesson will have a warming up & cooling down. No previous experience is needed.
DEMONSTRATION GROUP (all ages)
Anyone from the age of 5 incl. adults & enrolled in one of the classes. Voyage of Irish Dance is regurlarly asked to do demonstrations for certain functions, festivals and community events. If you are up for a challenge, like to perform and are able to put in extra training hours, enthusiasm and hard work then........ you are ready to be part of the demonstration group. Each term will consist of 5 lessons. Every lesson will have a warming up & cooling down.
MONDAY CLASSES - OURIMBAH (Central Coast)
TERM 3 starts on Monday 19 July - Monday 20 September incl. (9 weeks). No classes on Monday 2 August

* 5:15-6:15pm Junior Class (Term 3 Fee $108)
* 6:15-7:15pm Beginners Class (Term 3 Fee $108)
* 7:15-8:15pm Open Class (Term 3 Fee $108)

TUESDAY CLASSES - MORISSET (Lake Macquarie)
TERM 3 starts on Tuesday 20 July - Tuesday 21 September incl. (10 weeks).

TERM 3 starts on Wednesday 21 July - Wednesday 22 September incl. (10 weeks).

* 4:45-5:45pm Junior Class (Term 3 Fee $120)
* 5:45-6:45pm Beginners Class (Term 3 Fee $120)
* 6:45-7:45pm Open Class (Term 3 Fee $120)
All Wednesday classes are held at: "Adamstown Bowling Club, 504 Glebe Road"
THURSDAY CLASS - MORISSET (Lake Macquarie)
TERM 3 lessons are held on Thursday 22 July, 5 & 19 August, 9 & 23 September (5 lessons).

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS?
- Your dancing shoes.
If you already have softshoes and hardshoes then bring them in. Otherwise bring ballet shoes or jazz shoes/jazz sneakers or socks for softshoes. (no sandals/thongs) For hardshoes bring shoes with leather sole or shoes in which you are able to produce sound. (no rubbersoled shoes)
- Wear comfortable clothes in which you can move freely (e.g. singlet, trackpants, jumper, skirt). Note: dress/skirt length should be kneelength and not longer.
- Waterbottle and towel.
- Notebook and pencil.
- Hair out of your face.
IRISH DANCE SHOES
Irish Dance shoes are not cheap to buy. If you are a beginner and starting classes the first time I would recommend to enjoy the experience first. Fun and dancing are the most important things in my classes. Having Irish Dance shoes is complimentary. See above “What to bring to class”, which shoes you can use in the meantime. You could check with your teacher for second-hand pairs of soft shoes and/or hard shoes! NEW High Quality Irish dancing shoes & accessories are now available from you teacher for a very good price. Ask your teacher for more information.
IRISH DANCE CLASSES IN YOUR AREA?
If you would like to start up Irish dance classes in your area, if you have found a good venue or if you know more people who are interested in Irish dance.......... then please contact me for more details. With enough people and a proper venue I might be able to set up Irish dance classes in your area.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
An annual enrolment fee of $18.00 for the year 2010 will be asked for Enrolment in one or more classes of "Voyage of Irish Dance". Enrolment will only be issued when enrolment fee for 2010 is paid. This enrolment fee incorporates annual insurance costs.
Enrolments are taken throughout the year/term. Fees will be adjusted accordingly when enrolment in middle of a term.
Once enrolled you are enrolled for the year 2010 and are committed to payment of the coming term fees in the year 2010. If due to circumstances you need to cancel your Enrolment 2010, then a written notice needs to be sent to "Voyage of Irish Dance" 2 weeks before the final class of the existing term.
Before the start of every term invoices for that term will be issued.
No reimbursement will be given when classes are missed by the enrolled student.
If due to sickness of the teacher a class needs to be cancelled, a class will be made up or a reimbursement for that specific class will be given.
Arrive 10 minutes before class time, to put your shoes on and get ready for class.
If you need to discuss something with the teacher, please do so outside class times. If the teacher needs to teach another class straight after yours, then make sure to leave a message by phone, letter, email to discuss matters. The teacher will contact you a.s.a.p.
Members of the same family will receive a 10% discount of the combined term fees.
Enrolment in second class or more classes a 10% discount will be given on the term fees of those extra classes.
ENROLMENT FORM 2010
Please fill in the Enrolment Form 2010 and return it to me together with payment of $18 Enrolment Fee 2010. Your enrolment will then be issued.
